Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT DUDLEY RAMSEY
Peacefully, on June 4, 2026, Bob passed away at the Carberry Plains Personal Care Home, with his family by his side.
Bob was born in Carberry and was the first child of Dudley (Dud) and Burdette (Bud) Ramsey. He lived in Carberry his entire 92 years of life. He spent many of his years as an active community member, and volunteered in many initiatives from being on the fire brigade crew in his youth to a long-standing member of The Carberry Elks Club.
Bob began working with his dad at D.G. Ramsey garage, once he completed his schooling. Together, they shared a love for the business and passed it along to his sons, Brian and Bruce. Brian now operates the business as Ramsey Motors.
Bob married Clara (Mansfield) in 1959 and was blessed with four children. He and his family enjoyed summers at their Delta Beach cottage. Bob had a lot of stories from the people he met on the side of the road, did business with, or from his extensive travels. Though he loved the cabin and traveling the world, his favourite part was returning to his hometown.
Bob was a family man. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Clara; children, Linda, Brian (Annie), Bruce, Lisa (Glen); grandchildren, Tom, Laura (Stewart), Dez, Hannah, Jack; great-grandchildren, Laelle and Jayden; siblings, Betty (Jerry), Donna; sisters-in-law, Jean, Mona, Vi; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The care that Bob received at The Carberry Plains Health Centre and Carberry Plains Personal Care Home was second to none. Bob frequently mentioned it was the best service in town. The warm, compassionate, and loving care that he received during his stay is greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.
A private gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to The Carberry and Area Community Foundation.
